When Â鶹´«Ã½o theorist Surajit Sen published his prediction that solitary waves, tight bundles of energy that travel without dispersing, could break into smaller, "baby" or secondary solitary waves, experts in the field acclaimed it as a fine piece of work. They also felt that these waves might never be seen experimentally. But in a paper published this week in Physical Review Letters, Sen and his co-authors report that they have done just that.

A new Â鶹´«Ã½o study of treatments for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has found that combining behavior modification therapy with medication is the most effective way to improve the behavior of many ADHD children. When the two are combined, the study showed, the amount of medication required to achieve the same results as use of medication alone can be reduced by two-thirds.
